Despite my indie/ goth pretensions, I’ve got such a soft spot for the kind of cartoon bubblegum pop of the mid- eighties. Destroy All Monsters were one such band. This was an earworm when I woke up today.
Not to be confused with the legendary Detroit punk band fronted by statuesque beauty and visual artist Niagara, this lot were a cheeky English bunch. I’ve no idea why this hooky, catchy song wasn’t a hit. It’s cute with its fun sci-fi theme and video. It’s perhaps a little dated, falling between Pop Will Eat Itself and Transvision Vamp, but I still like it. Spring must be springing.

Fun. A little poppier than the Wonder Stuff, but in that similar tonal register.
It reminds me that there is simply not enough silly music these days.

Oh yeah, forgot about the Stuffies! Definitely a bit like them too. All to the good 😊
