Album Review: Haai- Humanise

The second album from London based electronic artist Teneil Throssell, aka HAAi, is absolutely sublime. Continuing with the gorgeous experimentation from debut Baby I’m Ascending, Humanise features friends like Jon Hopkins, Obi Franky, ILA and TRANS VOICES on the majestic ‘Satellite’. Elsewhere, we find Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor on ‘New Euphoria’ and Kam-Bu on ‘Shapeshift’.

it’s a meditation on AI and human progress, questioning how we co -exist without being swallowed up by the machine and retain our humanity. In essence, it often comes across like the little sister of Bjork’s ground-breaking ‘Vespertine’, as it blends the choral with the hi-tech. Experimentation and glorious song writing collide. HAAi is shaping up to be incredibly special, a forward-looking, unique artist.

Out via Mute on October 10th.
