The Future’s Here Today: Baby Lame

Described by her creator Chris Weller as a “punk -horror-drag superstar”, the award winning Baby Lame is one of the finest drag queens out there.

Having wowed/freaked out audiences at the Edinburgh Festival last year with her Final Baby Girl show, she continues to stomp over cliches in her candy floss shock wig, beard, clown make-up and fetish version of the baby doll look. It’s forward thinking stuff.

She’s already had a hell of a career, from hosting her Shit Show at The Glory in London, to acting as Consultant Producer on RuPaul‘s Drag Race UK and co-host of its accompanying podcast, alongside Scarlett Moffat, she can also be found collaborating with the inimitable Peaches Christ.

She takes her influences from the trashy side of queer culture, citing the likes of John Waters, David Hoyle, Jayne County and Christeene as her key role models. I love her because she’s smart, badass, sexy and pretty damn subversive.
