Thurston Last And Always

In a shock career U- turn, Thursday Moore is forming a Sisters Of Mercy tribute, Thurston Last And Always. This departure comes as a startling move so late in the legendary NY guitarist ‘s career.

Swapping his shredding for a drum machine, a la Doktor Avalanche, Moore’s foray into goth rock has been derided by rock critics and taste makers globally. Pitchfork spouted, ” It’s an act of artistic hubris for this has – been”, Japan’s Kawaii 50 said, “Foolish tall man, but we like his super fun happy hairstyle”, OMM went with, “He’s trying to jumpstart a flagging career. Even Bob Mould stays in his lane”, and the toddlers at NME said simply, ” It’s silly nonsense. We don’t know what he is.. He’s like, well old.”

His first album is titled, Floodpants, and will be produced by Steve Albini. In an official press release ahead of the album launch in September 8th, Albini said, “Nobody saw this coming. It’s Moore ‘s midlife crisis… Leather trousers suit noone, not even worn ironically. But hey, I’ll produce a chorus of farts for money, I don’t care”. Moore’s record company declined to comment, and Andrew Eldritch raised an eyebrow, archly.

  1. That just feels like one of those things someone thinks is a good idea when they’re really high. Like that period they went through with the all-instrumental music too maybe. Didn’t work, but bold move (I guess?!).
