Pills, pills, pills: I never thought I would need so many to numb the pain. Gone are the nights of ecstasy tablets, replaced by painkillers for osteoarthritis. It’s like a preview of old age, time nudging me in the ribs, reminding me it’s all, after all, finite.
I’ve got the sun in my eyes and the moon in my hair. Keep going, keep going, keep going. One wobbly step at a time.
It’s becoming a ritual, a familiar pattern. One in the morning, two mid- morning, one in the afternoon, a few before bed. I pop them like sweets. In my own small way, I’m propping up Big Pharma.

Still from ‘Pills” video by St Vincent.
I know that song. please be careful.
